Soigné (JG-34)

The title means "exhibiting sophisticated elegance, polished." My inspiration for the design came from a trip to Santa Cruz, California. Our son was married by the ocean where beautiful flowers and ocean waves were the setting for the special day- hence, the flower and the wave.

Plant Party (JG-512)

I love to draw next to a lake a few miles from my home. One early Fall, the campers were gone and I had the lake to myself. I could not get over how the wild grasses, wild flowers and the weeds had grown together in such a way that they appeared to be dancing in the wind.

For much of my first twenty four years of life I was on the mighty Mississippi River, where the channel was wide and the current ran fast.  My family shared the river with American Bald Eagles, big cat fish, and other wild life - including people.  I was taught to respect the power of the river and all the creatures that drew life from it.

Most of my nature designs are a lot of imagination with some realism thrown in. This "pod" was in amongst the grasses out at my favorite lake.  The pod looked so proud and strong amongst its fellow weeds.
